Wholehealth™ FlaxHealth™
Review Summary
There are two main rich sources of Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Fish and Flaxseed Oil. While essential Omega-6 Fatty Acids may be gotten through many common foods, Fish and Flaxseed Oil may not exactly be a regular part of our diet. As such, it has been widely publicized through extensive research that average Americans may only be getting less than a quarter of essential Omega-3s required by the body.

When viewed under these considerations, FlaxHealth™ by Wholehealth™ may be an appealing choice. It is rich in Omega-3s. However, although it supplies Alpha-Linoleic Acid, it does not seem to supply EPA and DHA. In this review, we will assess FlaxHealth™ for its benefits, and we’ll weigh its limitations in terms of whether or not it appears to be the best source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids.

Ingredients at a Glance
As per the Wholehealth™ website, FlaxHealth™ contains 2000mg of Organic Flaxseed Oil. The supplement facts sheet provided on the website does not provide details about the nutrients supplied. However, it is stated that the supplement is rich in Alpha Linoleic Acid (ALA), Oleic Acid (OA) and Linoleic Acid (LA). As such, it supplies Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 Fatty Acids.

Ingredients in Focus
FlaxHealth™ may be a good source of ALA and other fatty acids; however, it is not immediately clear if other Omega-3 Fatty Acids, like EPA and DHA, are also supplied, as mentioned above. Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) may have broad effects on one’s mental health. Studies suggest that a diet rich in EPA may help people combat such psychologically debilitating conditions as depression and anxiety.

Hence, consumers looking for a daily dietary supplement that may have broad benefits to one’s health, including the cardiovascular health and brain functions, may be disappointed by this particular formula. Therefore, we would suggest looking for a Fish Oil supplement rather than a Flaxseed Oil one. Even better would be a Fish Oil supplement that is derived from deep-sea fishes. This is so because deep sea, cold-water fishes yield the highest and purest EPA and DHA levels. An odorless Fish Oil supplement may be a great alternative if one is looking for Omega-3 Fatty Acids, but doesn’t appreciate the smell of such oils.

Website
There seems to be no exclusive website for FlaxHealth™ at the time of this review. Wholehealth™ does have an official website which posts the supplement facts of FlaxHealth™. However, we believe a quality Fish Oil formula should also be backed by numerous and positive testimonials, which are starkly missing from the website at this time. We appreciate, however, that the webpage listing FlaxHealth™ provides links to articles about Omega-3 Fatty Acids. On the other hand, the information provided does not specifically pertain to FlaxHealth™. We usually like exclusive product websites detailing the manufacturing practices and extraction processes for the specific product.

Positives
• May appeal to those looking for Alpha-Linoleic Acid supplement
• Manufacturer has official online presence
• Online buying option available through manufacturer website

Negatives
• Details about manufacturing practices not discussed at this time
• No money-back guarantees posted online at the time of this review
• Does not seem to supply EPA and DHA
• Testimonials and reviews not posted at this time

Final Thoughts
In the end, while we like that the formula is a good source of Alpha-Linoleic Acid, we are not enthusiastic about this particular supplement. While ALA does break down into some EPA and DHA once inside our body, the amounts may not be enough to get meaningful health benefits. Since it has been widely researched that an average American is only getting less than 25% of the essential fatty acids, we would recommend using a formula that supplies high levels of EPA and DHA.

Certainly, it may be a very good decision to supplement one’s diet with an Omega-3 supplement. Extensive researches have definitively shown that Omega-3 Fatty Acids play a vital role in maintaining heart health, as well as in reducing mental health ailments like anxiety and depression. To sum it up, we believe the best EPA/DHA formula may come with attractive money-back guarantees, be odorless, be derived from deep sea fishes and be free of mercury and other heavy metals.

ArcticEssentials® - When it comes to Omega-3 products, Arctic Essentials® sets the bar for the best fish oils available. The product contains the highest levels of EPA and DHA per serving, is manufactured in one of the only three pharmaceutically licensed Omega-3 facilities in the world, is odor-free and tasteless, is 100% mercury & contaminant-free, and is the only product we have seen that is also enhanced with a New Zealand Green Lip Mussel complex. These are the important aspects that an Omega-3 product must be judged against and Arctic Essentials® gets a perfect score on each line item. Arctic Essentials® is so selective with their raw materials that over 95% do not qualify to make their ultra-refined, pharmaceutical-grade marine oils. Once the satisfactory raw materials are selected, they undergo a highly refined triple distillation process including activated carbon, molecular distillation and heating under strict high vacuum conditions. To top it off, every batch is independently tested by an external lab and is certified to be free of more than 250 environmental contaminants. This is just another part of their perfect process that explains why Arctic Essentials® set all the standards for the best Omega-3 product. Click Here to read our full review.
