For example, this product’s formula merely says it contains fish oil, but it does not indicate which fish it is derived from. According to our research, oily fish, such as salmon and tuna, are the best sources of Omega-3s, but we have no idea if they are used in this product or not. Also, many fish are loaded with mercury and other chemicals, which is why the most effective product developers will put fish oil through an intense filtration process. In fact the most forward thinking developers use a 40 step filtration process. However, 21st Century® and its retailers have failed to post this information, which is also a red flag for us.
