We were glad to see that this manufacturer utilizes a Fish Oil source for this Omega-3 formula. It’s well known that seafood is the only source in nature for DHA and EPA Fatty Acids, both of which are considered the most powerful Omega-3s for the body. However, we are a bit disappointed that this supplement contains so little DHA. This Omega-3 in particular has been described as “brain” food and is said to generate amazing health improvements for the heart and cardiovascular system. We feel that DHA is equally as important as EPA, and we feel that the most effective formulas on the market offer at least 700mg of each of these fatty acids. This formula, however, does not provide such high concentrations in their daily doses.

Furthermore, while we feel that Fish Oil is a superior source of Omega-3s, there are certain issues we feel must be addressed. Many fish in the ocean contain a high amount of environmental toxins, particularly mercury, and it is best when a manufacturer ensures their customers they have taken the proper steps to purify their formulas and to catch “clean” fish. This company says to use molecularly distilled Fish Oil in order to ensure purity, but there are other companies that only use fish that are caught 3000 feet below sea level and still use a 4-step distillation process to guarantee purity. Without such measures, there is no way of knowing if a supplement is completely safe for daily use.

The original price for this supplement is just under $40, but we have found that many online retail stores have drastically cut this price down in order to encourage sales. We’re sure some customers may find these sale prices to be a major plus, but they do raise concern on our part. We have to wonder why these companies have felt the need to cut their prices by so much. Our first conclusion is that they may be unable to move this product off of their shelves.
