Currently, there are many Omega-3-based supplements on the market due to their many purported health benefits. However, we do feel that it takes a quality formula in order to provide such benefits.
For this reason, we will take a closer look at this Nature Made® supplement to determine if the product appears to contain a quality source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, and to see if the formula seems capable of living up to the company’s advertised benefits.

According to the company website, this product contains the following ingredients: Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Cod Liver Oil, Gelatin (Non-Bovine), Glycerin and Water. The company recommends that regular users take one to three soft gels with a meal daily.

Ingredients in Focus
We do appreciate that this manufacturer chose to obtain their Omega-3 Fatty Acids from a seafood source for this supplement. Currently, seafood is the only known source for the two DHA and EPA Omega-3 Fatty Acids. There are several plants and herbs that also contain Omega-3 Fatty Acids, but since they do not contain these two powerful fatty acids, they are often much less desirable then Fish Oil-based supplements. Research indicates that DHA and EPA can help improve the health of the heart, brain and joints. Also, these two Omega-3s are often considered to be more beneficial, and they are often described as “brain” food.
However, because this company does not list the exact dosage amounts of the Fish Oils used, we’re not certain how beneficial this formula may be. We do feel that the most effective products will contain at least 700 mg of both DHA and EPA, and consumers who want to make sure that they are obtaining at least this concentration may want to look into other Omega-3 supplement options.
Cost
Currently, this product is very moderately priced. A bottle of 100 capsules costs just below $6.00 and will last anywhere from one to three months per dosage instructions. However, while some may find this low cost to be a major benefit, it does raise a red flag on our part. We have to wonder about the quality of the formula and the steps the company took to develop this product. One concern when it comes to Fish Oil supplements is purity. There are many fish in the ocean that contain high amounts of mercury and other environmental toxins, and the purification process of Fish Oil can be pricey for companies. There are some manufacturers on the market that will employ a 40-step distillation process in order to ensure purity, but this company does not mention taking such steps.

However, those who would like to try this product can find it for sale at various online stores. Currently, the company website does not have a checkout function, so people cannot purchase directly from the manufacturer. This may mean that the supplement will cost more, and it may not come with as good of guarantees and return and refund policies as a supplement that is retailed directly from its manufacturer may.
